What is good website traffic growth?

As with many metrics, the traffic growth benchmark varies depending on many factors like the industry, the audience, the attractivity of product/service, the company stage, etc. You do want to see a constant or seasonal traffic increase year over year or month over month, depending on how often you want to measure your website traffic growth.

If you see a decrease in your website traffic, you might want to look further. Website traffic growth best practices

Here are some of the best practices you should keep in mind to achieve website traffic growth.

Traffic sources best practices

step 1 icon Track it alongside other metrics

As previously mentioned, tracking only your web traffic could be a mistake, as it does not accurately portray the whole picture. Try also checking the conversion rate, to see if those visitors actually make a purchase. It’s as important to track the conversion metrics as it is to track the acquisition ones.

step 2 icon Optimize your SEO

Optimizing your on-page SEO as well as the SERP (search engine result page) is paramount. Focus on organic search, target specific search terms, or long-tail keywords that get you a good ranking on Google that can drive traffic from potential new users.

step 3 icon Get creative with content

While optimizing your SEO, you could definitely give your content marketing strategy a little revamp and think of new content that could help you rank on Google search and get new users. Case studies, landing pages, and guest posting: get creative with your content and get those users engaged.
